Nemasys Biological Vine Weevil Nematodes

Adult Vine Weevils just crawl around at night, chomping great holes in the leaves of your (mainly) potted plants and shrubs but they’re not the real problem, their larvae are.   

Vine Weevil larvae just eat, eat, eat away at your roots and juicy tubers and kill your plants. We know of at least one commercial nurseryman who has given up growing in pots, purely because of these Vine Weevil pests.  

Don’t worry though, that’s where Steinernema kraussei comes in to save the day… or at least your plants. Just mix with water (instructions included) and get it on your plants… asap.

• Mix the nematodes with water as directed on the packaging  

• Apply the solution to moist soil using a watering can with a fine rose or a sprayer  

• Focus on areas around plants, pots, and borders where vine weevils are active  

• Use during the spring and autumn when soil temperatures are above 5°C  

• Reapply every six weeks during the weevil’s active periods for effective control  

• Store unused nematodes in the refrigerator and use within the recommended timeframe
