These handmade plant supports are made from chestnut palings and their fame is spreading quickly!
They’ve caught on in a big way in Germany and Sissinghurst Castle uses them too (we’re sure Ms. Sackville-West would approve!) but why?
Well, there are lots of reasons to stake your flowers. To avoid wind damage, support the weight of flowers or just to keep plants in order. If you have any of the below, the RHS recommend they’re supported and a ring support is the easiest and most effective to use:
Peonies, Tomatoes, Delphinium, Perennial Sunflower, Rudbeckia laciniata, Oriental poppies, Foxgloves, Aster bellflower, Leucanthemum, Dahlias, Crambe cordifolia and Heliopsis… and I can add lots, etc., etc.
You can stake at any time of the year, although Spring is normally best when plants are quite small. With these easily adjustable handmade plant supports, you can easily stake large plants without damaging them, however.
They are 3’ 6” high and can be easily stored for next season.
