Wormcast and Coir Compost

See, what you have to do is so simple.

What you do is

You take the “produce” of these,

add some of the same from these

mix together with theirs,

add lots of Comfrey

Then let these little fellows get to work,or rather go straight to their lunch break.

( O.K. I said urggh too !

But we can’t all have the same tastes.)

Really thank Sara Backman for this photo.

Stir in the same amount of the husk of the coconuts that this chap is going to throw down .

We thank the Sewalanka Foundation for this so evocative photo.

For this southern Sri Lankan lady to separate from the nut.

( Did you know all of our coir pots are made by village ladies in south Sri Lanka .)

Then what do you get so

ORGANICALLY

Wormcast and Coir Compost

probably the best compost in the world

( with apologies to Carlsberg ! )

Can you think of a better example of

Nature’s Natural Cycle

Jeremy Williams wants no other title but Worm Farmer.

He and his girlfriend Stephanie, she’s an entomologist, live on a small family farm in the depths of the Herefordshire countryside.

Much more accurately, we should say they share his parents’ farm.

Alpacas, shetlands, sheep, horses, donkeys, dogs and ponies all live here in easy, natural harmony.

Peaceful co-existence.

(We’re the superior species remember, why can’t we manage that !)

Jeremy grows the comfrey, so rich in potassium and nitrogen, just to feed his worms.

He is just such a natural ‘sustainer’, for example he runs his van on chip fat !
( He may deliver to you in it if you need a few bags locally.)

Ooh, stop it, I think she’s looking !

Don’t care who’s looking, it’s lovely

Packed in recycled coffee bags* this wonderful mix is the only ’bought in’ stuff I grow in now..

Of course I still fill it out with our own green compost and add Neem - and Seaweed for the more grown up plants - but this compost really beats anything I have grown in.

Joe agrees - and he has so many, many, more years ‘experience’ than me !

I think she’s got a carrot

We simply do not think there is a more natural, or more effective, organic compost available.

An absolutely wonderful example of “Nature’s Natural Cycle” direct from the Herefordshire countryside.

Yes, she has got a carrot !

These sacks have loads of uses in the garden after you have emptied them.
For example really ideal, with their natural aeration, for turning leaves into leaf mould.

* These coffee sacks are kindly supplied by the environmentally friendly coffee roasters Johnsons Coffee (www.johnsonscoffee.com).

A Co. Antrim based company, long at the forefront of Fairtrade supply, they have recently re- designed their packaging to use 50% less polythene, instead using paper as an outer print layer.

This family owned company has offered us these sacks because they are passionate about reducing waste - and we thank them for a really great idea.

After all, he and his friends have put so much into it !
