(on your base)
It just so magically conjures up thoughts of gentle carefree afternoons.
Afternoons when the house work, the office work, the field work in fact any work you normally have to do can just be pushed aside for a glorious while.
The two casement windows, and the secure door, are all glazed in toughened glass, and the roof is ‘tiled’ in felt shingles to give a real ‘cottage in the wood’ look.
I won’t bore you again about FSC wood, or 15 year guarantees and stuff but will mention that it is about 6’ to the eaves, and about 11’ 2” wide ( 339 cm) by 9’ 6” ( 296 cm) deep – plenty of room for all sorts of activities, especially with blinds !
It is very easy to assemble, but a good level base is essential as for all our Garden Buildings, but it’s quite easy to make one.
( It must be, Joe did it ! Take a look at the Arbours info pages. )
You will need an extra pair of hands though when you assemble your Henley.
It’s a good strong building, so some of the parts are quite heavy.
You could, of course, just sit back and let our experts do the work though– I’d be very tempted to let them get on with it, after all, you sorted out the base !
This ‘Summer House’ is far too nice a haven to be neglected during the colder months.
With the door and windows shut, you can look out over the winter world of your garden.
Blackbirds at the windfalls, a Robin ( they will probably be only one ) and tits on the bird table.
Insomniac, and hungry, Squirrels out and about searching for their nuts, even on very cold days.
(They normally have several stashes of nuts, and do forget where some of them are, plus the fact other hungry creatures are quite partial to nuts too, and may have got there first ! )
Anyway, even if you are not like our friend poring over his manuscript ( often with the help of his butane gas stove ) your ‘Summer’ house can still be an ‘All Seasons’ garden room.
Why close down for the Winter ? Just go a little slower, and look just that little bit longer.
