This is the Florence Arch
Bring Back a More Romantic Age
Perhaps you see masked Venetian beauties (O.K. I know it’s called the ‘Florence’) flirting with their fans beneath this curved arch, or Mr Darcy entreating Elizabeth as she fumes her way back to Longbourn, or Victorian ladies crushing their Crinoline between the trellises as they ‘hide’ from their beaus ?
Oh all right, you can just see a nicely made wooden garden Arch, some people just have no romance !
What you really should visualise though, is this lovely garden arch entwined with traditional plants. With the fragrances of Woodbine (Lonicera periclymenum) and Fragrant Virgin's Bower (Clematis flammula) - although keep both under control.
Then envisage your living arch framed with the glory of Hollyhocks and Delphiniums.
See, you still do have some romance deep, deep down !
